The new €160million, 7.5Km line linking Hansfield, Dunboyne and the M3 Parkway is to open tomorrow morning. It connects to the existing Maynooth line at Consilla and will offer services to Dublin Docklands every half hour during the week and to Dublin Connolly at weekends.

The journey will take 31 minutes from M3 parkway and 27 minutes from Dunboyne. For commuters 300 pay and display parking spaces are provided at Dunboyne, with a further 1,200 spaces available at M3 Parkway.

These will be the first trains from Dunboyne since 1947 when the station closed.

Hansfield station will not be open yet, as a road that was to be provided by the developers of the Adamstown development has not yet been provided, no date for this opening has yet been given.

Further plans include opening the line to Navan, and the planning permission for this is due to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála in May 2011, as part of the Governments infrastructure investment programme.
