It looks like we might soon see German ICE trains at St Pancras International station in the future. A German train trial is about to take place through the Chunnel, connecting France with Britain sometime during October.

At present safety regulations on the trains themselves have prevented trains other than the Eurostars being used to carry passengers, but there are signs these are being loosened, and indeed the new build of German ICE will ahve Channel Tunnel safety features in mind.
