New commuter services on the Cork to Middleton line will begin in July.
Monday to Friday, there will be a half hourly service during peak times with an hourly service throughout the day. Journey time between Cork and Middleton will be 24minutes, and connections will be available to the existing Cork Dublin Intercity service.
Intermediate stations called on route are Dunkettle, Little Island, Glouthaune, Carrigtwohill.
This has opened following a 75million Euro investment program thats has reinstated the previously disused line between Glouthaune and Middleton, provided a new signalling system, new stations at Carrigtwohill and Middleton, increased station car parking and built a number of bridges on the route to replace existing level crossings.
