Its seems that there is a problem with the new Javelin trains that speed up and down High Speed 1 into Kent at up to 186mph. The problem is not on High Speed 1 but for the last part of their journey they have to switch onto the old classic rail network and it seems that here the train suspension struggles and the trains wobble and shake so much that there have been reports of passengers being scared during the journey.
It has been claimed by a SouthEastern Railway spokeperson that this is just a teething problem with the trains, but considering they have been in service for over a year problems like this should have been fixed sooner, and even though it is important to stress that this isn't a safety issue merely a passenger comfort issue at a cost of over £9m each this should have been sorted earlier.
